FEMA Education Course Overview

EBB Get Trained FEMA Education Course OverviewContractors who complete this training will be eligible to be included in the Earthquake Brace + Bolt Contractor Directory. All EBB participating homeowners must use this Directory to select a contractor to complete their retrofit (unless they are doing the work themselves).

The goal of this Seismic Rehabilitation Training for One- and Two-Family Wood-Frame Dwellings is to promote seismic rehabilitation of one- and two-family dwellings. Completing this training will help you learn to identify common seismic vulnerabilities, and learn about rehabilitation approaches and available guidelines.

This training was developed from FEMA P-593, funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This version of the training has been modified for use in California, and in particular for use with Chapter A3, as adopted into the latest edition of the International Existing Building Code (IEBC).

The 2022 EBB registration is now closed and soon thousands of homeowners will be looking for a contractor to do their EBB seismic retrofit. EBB is offered in 126 additional ZIP Codes for a total of 521 ZIP Codes, giving you more opportunities to offer your services.

Get ready! If you’re not already trained, complete training before registration opens so you can be included in EBB’s Contractors Database, used by homeowners to find their retrofit contractor.
